Bob Dylan, the legendary, multi-poetical and neverending electric/acoustic generation-spanning troubadour will bring his Neverending Tour to Prospect Park in Brooklyn on August 12, his website announced last Monday. The concert is part of the “Celebrate Brooklyn” series with tickets ranging from $55-$100 and went on sale exclusively to fan club members who knew the promotional code “Tilden.” The best tickets sold out within hours and by evening all 5,600 tickets were gone. (Well, there’s another one I’ve missed.)

When Mick Jagger was asked in the 1970s did he think he would still be performing when he was 60, he replied, “Yeah…Easily.” I’m sure that Dylan would’ve had a similar answer. It’s good to see the legends we grew up with like Dylan, Clapton, Ringo, etc., persevere…not only with their music but active within their own legendary aura.

True ,and a very few possess the extraordinary poetic power in their lyrics as Dylan possesses.

I love musicians who are in there for the long haul. Dylan’s lyrics helped shape the way many people see the world. Joni Mitchell was like that, too.

Now that you mention Joni Mitchell, her “Both Sides Now” became clearer to me through the trials and tribulations of my maturation process…something I’m still endeavoring to get right. (Judy Collins’ version of “BSN” is one of my all-time favorites.)
